The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

48. The base kit might be a little more dosh, but ( I hear ) it's excellent, and you can use more smaller scale bits to really do it up right !

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Probably 72nd when thinking about it as you can make use of more readily available Macross and Gundam bits in this scale. The best kit to use unfortunatly is the Cyber-Hobby FAW2, the old frog one is a bit too short and soft on detail, the Xtrakit/Special Hobby one has the detail but the fit is not that brilliant although it might be the ideal basis for this idea.

Look forward to seeing it done

The only Gundam stuff in 1:72 is incredibly expensive resin. There are a few in 1:48 as well, but they're sell-an-organ-or-child pricy!

Would recommend the Hasegawa Macross weapons set in 72nd, though - should give you some appropriately sci-fi weapon shapes.

I like!   And it gives ideas for other Sea Vixen near R/W whiffys.

Wow!
1/48 if you have the dosh.

There is an alternative Sea Vixen kit which everybody forgets about, the High Planes one.  It does both FAW 1 and FAW 2.

It is perhaps the most accurate of the kits according to the reviews and is considerably cheaper than either the DML or Xtrakit ones.

What happened to the decals for the Hi-Planes Sea Vixen? It used to have six optional schemes, but now you don't get any at all!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

1/48th base kit then scaleorama to 1/72nd and detail the interior with multiple decks.....

I like the idea of putting a saucer on top of the fins.......

They ran out.  The new bloke in Singapore who took over Hiplanes doesn't seem to have had them printed.

I recently got one of their Sea Vixens and definitely leaves the Eastern Express one for dead.
