My next TSR2.....a big wing M2.5+ spyplane

Work so far.

Intakes widened for more powerful engines and thinner air

Wings made a tad bigger...

Awaiting filler to smooth over the wings at the moment

An excellent bit of styrene jig-saw puzzling there.  :thumbsup: :bow:

How about un-tapering the nose while you're at it? Those 1/48 kits always look mad to me, can't imagine how Airfix made such a screw up of that when they did the masters for the 1/72 kit in 1/48 and got that right!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Nice bit of kitbashing   :thumbsup:

I have a similar idea like that;

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

My fighter, the F4, will have lengthened standard wings for greater altitude and endurance (and an extra pylon), but this one needs to be capable of very high altitudes 80,000 ft + and great ranges, like the SR-71, so a huge delta seemed the obvious choice, as there's plenty of fuselage on which to attach it.
Just not looking forward to all the sanding...

The 1/48 AIrfix TSR2 has a nose section that tapers from just in front of the wing root. It should have parallel sides almost all the way to the cockpit but it doesn't. The 1.72 mould is correct in this area, but for some reason the 1/48 one isn't. You can see the taper quite clearly in Devilfish's ninth photo, where the wings are seen in all their glory the first time.

As I have 3 more to do after this (unless I get another 2..) and I have one already built, I'm happy to accept the inaccuracies of the kit.
