Having a truck to collect cars is a good idea. One of those things from Walking Dead that kinda bugged me. They should have been collecting cars....for all sorts of reasons !

And raiding the National Guard armories...and the airports.  Most stuff painted green will run on kerosene/JP8/Jet-A without a problem

Collecting cars is a great idea. Spare parts, getting the roof metal, (Usually the strongest metal in the body), fuel, )For starting fires if nothing else), spare parts and building blockades.
Of course you need what we call "A rollback bed" for that.

Hi, Norbert, the English term you're looking for here "towing-vehicle without trailer" is "prime mover" (at least in the US, Canada & Australia - not sure about the UK).

Quite a number of multi-rear-axle vehicles I've seen have the rear set as single wheels & the front set double, so that should work.

She's looking good, so far! Hope to see more soon.

The rollback-bed is a good idea, but much too much... I will put a pair of wooden or aluminium tracks on the back with linked ramps. This is much easier to build.

Norber your correct. In America we call them "Tractor-Trailer Rigs" when connected and a "Tractor" for the unit when separated.

The truck will be "transformed" by an other survivour but, I think, both men will do a similar work.

O.k., the next steps:

After deassembling and cleaning and remove some faults of the sprued parts of the kit I'd started to reassemble.

First step was to reunite the frame, the suspensions and some other additional stuff:


Meanwhile, I'd extracted the driver's door and the driver's door inside paneling from the each 1-thing-parts of the cabin and the interior:


And I coloured the Diesel-engine:

(It may give you a hint to the future color of the body.)

How's your zombie crushing truck coming along?
I used to have a boat load of these truck kits but I got rid of most of it. This gives me so many ideas I wish I had it all back!

Frame and additional parts primed and hangend to become dry in the bathroom:

I Won't paint it, so I took some aluminium from the kitchen to cover it to look like a chromed part.

You see, I'm busy by painting the frame with bright black:

I did it for 3 evenings, every evening for several hours.
But bright black is stupid!

Sometimes, I'd thought to have forgotten some places to paint and did repaint... only to see the same. The shine of my lamp was making the black in some corners looking white (or primer-grey).

Now the later base of the Porsche at the back of the truck::

I'd welded L-profiles and put some bracing between. Total lenght (scaled): 6.5 meters.

     Any chance you could show us how you weld the metal ?  I need to do some but I've never seen how.  Only thing I've ever seen written was just what you said. You welded the parts and that is all.
