ISrael has already started studying upgrades for the F-24 - and installed canards on one of theirs....

Whatever.

Another beauty ! Love the shape and the colour on this one. Another great selection of photos to peruse ( and believe ) as well.

I also noticed a plastic tray under the notebook in one pic, which is an awesome idea for storing spare parts etc. !

Hello everyone,

I am late to reply, my PC had some bugs, so this post is through another channel...? Thank you very much to everyone for the positive feedback, and to NightHunter for the updated, "final" profile. I like this one, too, it is so plausible, esp. in the Hill II scheme.

Unfortunately I had to take the pics under artificial light (those dark winter days...:(), and the pics turned out with a reddish hue. I tried to cure that, but the light on the background did not turn out as good, even and clear as I wanted to - maybe some more/new pics will follow.

The F-24A originally had canard foreplanes, check NightHunter's original F-21C design. I was tempted to "copy" this, but as I started working on the X-29 fuselage I found that the result would look VERY much like a Saab Gripen, so I tried to enlarge the wings a bit with the F-4 outer panels (which fit perfectly, and the new wings look damn good!), move the forward and avoid canards, either in the low original X-29 position of high, Gripen-like. I liked the "clean" delta result, and when I found the X-53 technology I thought that the F-24 could use it in practice, as an "excuse" for the simple wing. Anyway, the background story (if anyone wants to join the mess) offers many doors for export versions WITH canards, and I am still tempted to build one in Israeli colors, with a Café au lait paint scheme... Should look great, IMHO.

Again, many thanks, it was a pleasure to takle NightHunter's idea to hardware stage, and playing the creative ball back and forth was great, too.

It's a drawer from a screw magazine, something like this:

They come in various styles, some even feature double or quadruple size drawers, and you can stack them or hang them onto the wall. Very convenient to keep some order, esp. for small parts.  ;D

I'll have to look at getting one of those when i start doing Gundam models.

Late, but a final addition to this one - some new beauty pics, done with better light. I think the impression is much better now :)

Two more for NightHunter at McChord, with nice, scenic views...

And for a fellow user at another forum, the F-24 at Gütersloh Air Base in Germany (trying to fool plane spotters!):

This is a very cool bird... Nice job, mate!
Maybe Portugal would've bought these instead of the beat up f-16's they got... ;D
