Zero Length Launch Jaguar, 1/72

This is a test fit for an more advanced version I have planned. I drug out my 1/72 launcher from the Viva' La France GB we did a few years ago for my WHIF Mirage III  titled "The New Maginot Line"  as seen here.

Plan to do a Jaguar in cammo, but thought an old rasberry ripple version would look good as well.

The launcher is the ancient Revell Nike launcher in 1/40.  All the stairs, rails and gantry are scratch in 1/72.

that looks promising, terrifying but promising.

Agreed.

Raspberry ripple makes perfect sense and it looks right. Well done!
Whatever.

I'll bet the pilot was a rugby player. Leather balls! Cool! Adios, Larry.

Absolutely
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

...but if there are mishaps in the launch protocol, you have a  "Little  Richard  event"

Nice one ! Beautiful aeroplane in a beautiful paint scheme in a neat setting. I love the ZELL idea and it's nice to see it modeled.

I would have thought that for a ZELL launch the undercarriage would have already been in the retracted position.

All of the images of the F-104 and F-100 launches I see show gear down (extended) for ZELL launches.  Curiously the F-84 were gear up.  Perhaps for flight control reasons? (like flap blower on when the F-104 gear is extended), or for quick emergency landings.
