Sorry, this is for an RW model but I figure there's got be a chance....

I'm looking for a Heller Ferrari 512S, the one that Jackie Ickx and John Surtees drove in the 1970 Spa 1000 kms, looks like this.

Out of a matter of interest, what's the "thing" on top of the windscreen?

Think it may be a rear view mirror!

Correct, it was all the fashion in the 70s and you looked up at it through a small window in the roof.

We'd tried that idea maybe 5 years before at Pressed Steel in the quest for more pedestrian safety, remember that back then wing mirrors were mounted way forward on the wings, but we found it was difficult to position the roof window to cater for all driver heights unless you made it impractically large.

Hi Kit,
the lit was also released by Union, Wave and most recently, Fujimi, in Japan.
According to some it is also what is in the Protar and Testors 512 boxes.
The Union boxings appear to be the most common on ebay in the US ~$25.00 - $60.00 in the last year.

I didn't know that Jon, thanks. I have a few of Union's re-boxings, notably the Ford Mk IV, although I don't know who did the original, maybe IMC?

I actually have one Heller kit already but it's part built and I'm not sure it'll be suitable for the conversion I have in mind.
