Hi all,

coming back to a topic on "hybrids : aircraft & music instruments" from som time ago :
http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,37000.msg597452.html#msg597452
I finally had a try at a musical crossing between a Chengdu F-7E and a flute, inspired, inderctly, by this record cover, expesially some of the hybrids in the back :

So here it goes, made from a flute :

and a 1/48 Chengdu F7 :

and this is the result, in my usual favourite colors :

NARSES2

Now that's something straight out of a 40's Disney cartoon short, or maybe Looney Tunes

nice idea  ;D
i guess when the time comes, any enemy of china will have to "Face the music"

The Rat

That contrasting red and blue is just beautiful. Well done!

I have never in my entire 71 year life seen an aircraft model you could PLAY, as opposed to one you could play with!  :o

I'm waiting for your rendition of the B-17 crossed with a grand piano, in red, blue and yellow of course......  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I really have that one on my list ... I am thinking about it for quite some time, I identified the existence of models of pianos, just have to figure the appropriate scale for the Fortress ... after the flute practice, I fell ready to pursue that goal. Especially with your enthusiastic support  <_<

Nice one, but surely the flute should be facing the other way so that the airflow can play it?  ;)

argh! I hadn't even thought of that!!!  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

it sounds  :o like a design glitch

but thanks a lot for mentioning : it gives me a perfect alibi for a building a second versionn

Weaver

No problem: it would lend a new credibility to the nickname "whistling death" wouldn't it?  ;D

You could imagine them doing low passes over Japanese coastguard vessels whilst playing somethnig like the the Death Star march......

Love it ! I noticed it was backwards too....but maybe it could play it's own version of 'last post' after being shot down ?

actually I did it that way because when you hold the flute you look in the direction which is forward here ; which is logic, in its own way.

but now that I see the possibility of making it the other way, I'm just happy to have an excuse for another flute-aircraft :-)

I might try 4 engined wings ... propeller or jet? plenty of possibilites

Looks extremely Star Trekkie, if that's a phrase one could use. Cover the holes on top, some sort of a cockpit, paint in camo of the day and you have the answer to alien incursions as developed after the TOS ship ran into that 104.

Belated congratulations!
(sorry I did not check this topic before, I was thinking 'flute' in English means some weapon, but no, that is the same as the French 'flute'... incredible!)

It can be a weapon, depending on how skillfully it's played: less skill = more weapon..... ;)
