From AJ Aviation (son of Aviation Hobby Shop) a tin of Humbrol 209 Fluorescent Fire Orange and a Revell 1/72 Macchi MC.200.  The latter because I could and I recall seeing it in the shops as a kid.  Box art I recall was a little unusual in that the aircraft was depicted in an inverted position.

Anyway, had planned whiffery with a Mercury engine on the front but then when I opened the box I realised how tiny the aircraft actually is, and that the Mercury would swamp it!  The decal sheet is nice so realworldery beckoned (Italian markings), but I am tempted to finish it as a captured example in RAF markings.  Out of my usual subject zone so a nice distraction when I get to it.  I think I'll build it alongside my KP Avia S-199.

How about Hungarian for the Macchi

RAF better, given that the Italians flew in the BoB.

I agree with the honourable member for Tyneside.  RAF marking roughly daubed over Italian would be  worthwhile.  There's even a potential back-story there to give the JMN fraternity pause for thought.

Good deal.  And nearly worth it just for the box art, can't go wrong with a classic BoB mêlée.

Unless you're a Bf.110 fan, of course....... (are there such things?)

weaver! such a fan does not exist and if one did it wouldn't be me as the new tool 1/72 airfix 110 is apparently dud in the
canopy area as it is too shallow in overall depth. shame I only found that one out after i'd built one of the damn things and painted it in 2013, got talking to a modeller who'd built one for the 2013 show at Sutton Coldfield and noticed the same fault too!  :banghead:   :banghead:

Just won on Evil-Bay a 1/72 Airfix Ford Tri-Motor.
Possibly short of a few parts, started and no decals but cheap enough and a good source of seats for civilianising a Ca311.
Hmmmm, Trimotor with Heyford nacelles...
Now the clear fuselage that comes with the recent SH Ca311 would make a good sight seeing aircraft
Glass bottomed plane?
Unfortunately for that idea I have the Italeri kit.

Maybe in East African service to take sdvantage of Italian supply chains and maintenance facilities in Somaliland. But when Italy enters the war that all goes Tango Uniform. Or for the benefit of younger readers a bit Pete Tong.

Er, yes? Infinitely preferable to the 109, in any case!
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

I got one of these through the post from Michele & Jason at www.thepartsbox.com

It's 1/24 and is going in my Winnebago build.  It's a beautiful piece of casting.

I was actually thinking of a totally clear fuselage made of some wonder material that hasn't been invented yet but might have been in another trouser leg of time

Nick

I took Mum to Southend for the day and I found a great hobby shop (Laurence Mathews) just off the main stretch, the entire upper floor is packed with kits and tools.

I bought a Lancaster! An etched steel Lancaster no less!  http://www.fascinations.com/metalearth/Flight/Avro-Lancaster-Bomber
It's all on one steel plate 11cm square. I'd say the scale is 1/240 given that the wingspan is just on 13cm.
You can even see the camouflage in the etchings!

Metal Earth also do ships, tanks, buildings, the Mars Rover http://www.fascinations.com/metalearth/Miscellaneous/Mars-Rover and the Apollo Moon lander http://www.fascinations.com/metalearth/Miscellaneous/Apollo-Lunar-Module
