How does that Roden JetStar look ? And the AZ Huey ? was thinking of ordering both, but I'll probably get that three-kit joypack of the Cobra.

H i Captain! The AZ Huey is pretty good, panel lines are fine & recessed, a few parts need to be made from stretched sprue but it's a vast improvement on the Matchbox kit. You get photo etch in the single kits but not in the Joypack. There is a little flash on the canopy but the glass is clear. Weapons load is about the same as the old Matchbox kit, two 19 round 2.75 inch rocket pods and two Minigun pods plus the nose turret with mingun and Grenade launcher.
I've seen pics of the new Special Hobby kit and this one is a lot more basic but gives you a good AH-1G. I'll be getting the more detailed Special Hobby for Best and prob more of these AZ ones for whiffing or mass colour shemes.

The Jetstar is a nice little kit on the sprues, panel lines are restrained and finely recessed. I hear it makes a good early Jetstar. The only slight problems I've heard of are the cockpit clear part needs trimming/filing/filling to fit and the engine fronts are slightly undersized creating a step. Don't know for sure because I hasven't started it yet. Only one decal set fior the USAF european 1 scheme on the box art.

Hope that helps!

Big discussion about that over on Britmodeller  it seems you can model a Late RAF Tornado,
All the bits are there but no clear bits for the LRMTS fairing, and you'll probably need to mod the
Instrument panels as they are the German ones

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

My 'cheaper' fabric winged Airfix Hurricane arrived today. Full report on the actual differences between the two kits here :-

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Bought on a whim today, mostly because it's weird and was reduced: one Italeri 1:72 SM.81 Pipistrello. Tri-motor with spats!  ;D

I'm thinking either Ethiopian, or South American. Possibly converted to an airliner...
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

South America is your oyster for the SM 81
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

thanks TallEng for the thumbs up on the revell  :tornado: new tool. it will need the aftermarket folk to sort out
the differences methinks, although if the LRMTS parts are lacking the clear bits i guess you could do them from clear styrene.

added to my stash.....

1/72 cyberhobby seaking AEW2 ['cos i can build the HC4 commando version with this tooling as well]
Keeper of George the Cat.

Well strictly temporary additions to the stash....

I just received six assorted Bandai and Imai Thunderbirds models from an ebay win for £36 inc postage, mostly because the seller's auction ended at 1.30am.

They're going straight back on ebay at £9.99 each.....

If that Revell He111-H6 is kit number 04672 then it's their own kit and not a repop of the Hasegawa kit.

The Wooksta!

Revell never did their own He 111 - it was a Frog tooling and one of their better ones.  The Russians never bought any of the Frog Axis kits* and Revell snapped them up.

*From memory, the ones Revell reboxed were:
Dornier Do 335
Dornier 17Z
Focke Wulf Ta 152 H
Arado Ar 234 B/C
Heinkel He 162
Heinkel He 111H
Heinkel He 115C
Heinkel He 219
