*I have two bids in for Spitfires on ebay, but placed placed year.  If I win, do the purchases count as this year or last year?  Do I break the promise?

A 1:72 Matchbox Dassault Mystère IV (Revell re-boxing) - will probably be converted into a N/AW fighter with a radar nose and an afterburner engine, inspired by the pretty Mystère IV N prototype.

You might be better off turning it into the IAe Pulqui II...







Phil Cater has done one using the Matchbox Mystere and a PM Ta 183 wing.  The good thing is that there was a wind tunnel model of the Ta 183 with a constant chord unswept wing, so that's another whiff.

A quick look in the relevant Wikipedia page says that the Argies looked to buy Canadair Sabres to replace the Meteor but the deal fell through..

That's an idea, a Saab 29 might be better suited as basis for a Pulqui II?

Anyway, mine won't be a model of the Mystére IV N, rather something inspired by it - not even certain if I can integrate a 2 seat cockpit as in the real thing, or if it remains a single-seater, maybe as an alternative to the F-86D/K/L? Belgian markings could be nice, too...?

I dropped a Mystere fuselage over the Pulqui II plan and it fits almost like a glove - think you have to put a wedge in it.

If it's the same bunch that do an appallingly bad (ie sub Unicraft/Merlin levels of utter unbuildableness*) IAe 33 Namcu, then you'd be better off scratching it.  Your skills should breeze through it.

*I've seen one and it is WORSE than anything I've seen from Unicraft!  It really is that bad...
