Monogram 1979 issue F-15 with its original cello wrap and faded price tag.
Shouldn't be any mould wear issues there!

Airfix Douglas Invader ....will appear with RAF roundels, but amazingly not a whiff

We (Brits) had 2 didn't we ?

In a back issue of Air-Britain's Aeromilitaria a few years ago, there was a couple of photos of them.  I'll have to see if I can find it but they're scattered around the house in various boxes.

My main reference picture is in "Lend-Lease Aircraft in World War II" which actually shows KL692 which was the third (ie not delivered) aircraft. It has roundels and is shown flying presumably somewhere over the US (Tulsa - see below)

Also in "The Secret Years - Flight Testing at Boscombe Down 1939-1945" There is a photo and profile of KL690 (the 'first' UK aircraft) at Boscombe Down in April 1945  but it has 'stars and bars' markings

A quick google search provides four photos of RAF Invaders - looks to be KL692 (same photo as in 'Lend-Lease') and of KL702 at the site below

Oh to be whiffing again :-(

According to the Aeromilitaria article (from what I can remember), the A-26 was at Boscombe Down for a comparison test between a number of aircraft deemed to be in the same class.  And what with the end of the war looming it was decided to continue with what they had.  At least that was the gist of the article as I understood it.

On re-examining the link I provided http://napoleon130.tripod.com/id249.html  there's quite a long 'article' included ....I'm wondering if it's the same article you're referring to and has been 'borrowed'

It refers to the fact that the Invaders would replace the Bostons of No 88 Squadron RAF....so there's an 'almost-was' what-if

Had a read of that and it's quite interesting.  But it's not what I remember of the article I've read, which was about the comparative test of all the aircraft involved.  (as far as I can remember that is)

A Tamiya 1:100 Il-28 as basis for another major conversion (think of a "mini Yak-28"?), an Airfix fabric wing Hurricane Mk.! (to turn it into a Polish aircraft, based on a pretty profile from PantherG and the fact that this is a whif with a real world background) and an Amodel Su-3 which might turn into a French fighter some day...

Ventura Spitfire F22 plus Techmod Isreali/Egyptian Spitfires.  Good job too - my last two copies of this sheet have been used up pretty sharpish...

Xtrakit DH Vampire FB 5. This is the new tool MPM kit in an Xtrakit boxing. I can probably, just, squeeze this into the end of my Alt WWII scenario

DP Casper transfer sheet - Forgotten Operations : Meridian Jan 1945. Loads of FAA late War markings. Thanks to Geoff (Thorvic) for alerting me to this
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Wooksta!

A mate has just cleared his stash - he's given up after losing all interest and sold them on.  He had a large collection of Spitfires...

Scored the following:
Airkit Spitfire F21
Airkit Spitfire F22
Airkit Seafire XV
Airkit Seafire XVII
Airkit Seafire F45
AZ Spitfire mk IX "Joypack" (I bought it for him at Telford in 2012!)
MPM Spitfire PR.XI

There should be more to come.
