At Driffield on Sunday and i got

Matchbox Gloster Meteor NF14
Airfix Arado AR 196
Italeri Ju 87B2, SM 79 and Eurofighter EF2000B

All for the grand total of £26

Tiger Hobbies were selling 1/24 scale airfix P-51 and Harrier GR3 for £25 and £30 new

What's the SM79 like?  I've got the ancient Airfix one but as it's a red stripe box it might pay me to flog it to a collector and buy the Italeri version to build.

I got a very pleasing box from Hobby Link Japan today.
Ari 1/72 Kawanishi E15K1 Shiun Resin kit (and very good looking resin it is too - smooth and bubble free as far as I can see through the bags).
ARII 1/72 Mitsubishi Babs
Ark 1/72 Dewoitine D-520
Fujimi 1/24 Toyota TE-27 Levin
Aoshima 1/72 Falco Seaplane (from the Anime Future Boy Conan)

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

The SM 79 looks surprisIngly good nice neat panel lines. Internal frame detail within the fuselage not bad at all. Comes with four different colour schemes. We were trying to work out how old the moulding was as the box says 2003

zenrat

Thanks.  The Airfix one is, well, typical for it's age I suppose.
I found a reference on Modelling Madness to the Italeri kit being released in 2004.

It's about that old as I got 2 at the time they came out and still have one un-built. Nice kit, goes together well

Thanks.  The fact that the review isn't a rave has decided me that I should just build my Airfix version - especially as i'll be whiffing it.

I just goggled the 311.  Great looking plane - there aren't many subjects that i'd snap up on sight if I saw one in a hobby shop but that qualifies.

Yes always liked it. I got the early clear nosed version as I have the old Italeri stepped nose version in the stash

Green with envy! Well done.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
