That comment has just made my mind go in all sorts of crazy directions  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Gondor's Modelling Rule Number Three: Everything will fit perfectly untill you apply glue...

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Howard of Effingham

from waterstones coventry....

david gledhill 'the phantom in focus - a navigator's eye on britain's cold war warrior'

also have a copy of, on order....

dan conley and richard woodman 'cold war command'

btw, dan conley featured in iain ballantyne's 'hunter killer' book, served in the RN's SSN fleet in the 1970's and
1980's, so this one is likely to be as good a read. all of a sudden there seems to be a rush of books about
personal experiences and such of life in RN SSN's and its all fascinating reading.

Just finished reading it.  Excellent book.  It leaves little to the imagination as far as Leopard AS1 service.  Well worth the price.

A book on the different underwears of the militaries of the world?

Interestingly, "briefs" is not the usual word used to describe men's underwear downunder.  Just another example of being divided by a common language.  ;D ;D ;D

-No.44, The Deserteur (set in the cold war: a Soviet pilot deffects to Alaska in a MIG-29 (or so its seems))

-No.46, The Ghost Squadron (set during the Balkan (Kosovo) Crisis, havent read it yet)

-No.48, Battle over the mountains (set in the mid 90's in the fictional South American country of Managua)

the latter is the best one of the bunch, with some great artwork of great whif schemes.
it features Managua Air Force F/A-18's, F-104G's, CH-47's, UH-1's,.......
but also mercenary Drug Cartel squadrons with Mi.24's and MIG-23's  ;D

im defenatly going to build the FADLM F/A-18 and F-104G  ;D

Just finished reading "The Burning Dawn" by Wilbur Smith. It has a picture of two biplane fighters on the cover and I got it for that. Starts out with a heroic English flier who falls in love with a French girl after a crash landing and then it broke down to "throbbing manhood" and "Womanly achings". Then back to flying and the hero dies? From there it covers the tragedy and treks of the French girl, (now pregnant with the fliers son), to Africa and her adventures there.
Not at all what I expected but an interesting read as the style and content seemed to change all through the book.
Maybe my (Adult) daughter will enjou it.

Green Mars

By Kim Stanley Robinson, Kindle downloads for the princely sum of 99p each.  I'll probably pick up Blue Mars shortly.  I read Red Mars years ago and enjoyed it, always intended to read the full series but never got around to it.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Blue Mars.

...and a big thank you to Simon/Mossie for the heads up on that, I would most probably have missed it.

I too read them many years ago in paper form, and I am now looking forwards very much to reading them again.
