2014 Whiffie Awards Info Thread

Hi all you whiffers out there.

Just to let you know that the 2014 Whiffie Awards Polls will go live sometime on Saturday 8th February, (family chores permitting), and then will be closed approx 10pm UK time on Friday 21st February. I`ll remind you all nearer the time.

The Awards ceremony will then take place on Saturday 1st March when the winners are announced. This should set you up nicely for the Oscars on the 2nd if you like that kind of thing.... 

Also there going to be a couple of changes. The main one being that in the last few years the academy has hand picked 5 entries from each category which have then gone to the vote. This will be changed this year so that all nominations will have the opportunity to face a vote, but I will need to jig a few of the nominations around so that they are more manageable. (You will see what I mean in due course, just more work for me in setting it up...  )

The Academy will still hand pick 5 overall entries for the new `Whiffies Academy Choice` poll.

Anyways, enough talk, I have lots to be getting on with.

Hi all,

Just to update you that I`m going through all the nominations slowly but surely, (don`t call me Shirley..... ), and using my limited knowledge of computers, I`ve come up with the following winners certificate, (using last years joint whiffie of the year winner as an example), which I can then email to the winners of each category once the awards are over.

At least the winners will have something to either hang on the wall, use as a coffee mat or throw darts at........  

Let me know what you think and I`m always happy for advice or help.

It`s a screen grab and not on the finished article.

You may have guessed by my earlier post that I'm impressed with the idea of getting anything more than the Whiffie Win Buzz.

Even if that wasn't the case, I'd still support the idea; if for no other reason than that it might inspire me to use a better backdrop for my finished-product photo's, whether it be a better (any!) cut of cloth or land/sea/airscape photo.
