So....
To stop hijacking FAR148 Steven L's thread about pushmepullyou Spitfires and ruining his profile thread,
Here we go again
This build was inspired by Vostok7's  x-wing Spitfire. see here for details
http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,34524.0/highlight,spitfire.html
But I couldn't quite get what I wanted (I probably tried to copy the Do335 too much)

This is about the length of a Do335

With Mk1 for comparison. But that wasn't quite right :-\
So I left it. Then stevenL (FAR148) put up a rough profile http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,38304.msg626224/topicseen.html#new
And http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,23590.msg626228/topicseen.html#new

So re-inspired I had another go....

But.... That wasn't it either

So I looked at Stevens most recent profile and...

I think I've cracked it  :drink:

Keith
The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Looks good to me! Are you going to include an upper and lower rudder?

It's certainly going to have an upper fin and rudder, the rest I'll see....

So to an update,
please remember that certain 'Things' like common sense, possible CofG problems, location of undercarriage
Etc, etc...... Have or will be ignored

If you're going to have 2 engines you'll need twice the cooling (possibly)

Underwing radiator enlarged (twice the size! and yes there will be another one on the other side)

With a normal PR19 to show that it's roughly the same size. So it ought to be really fast :o

Hope you approve

I would turn the rear prop around Keith ---  ;)

What about moving the rear engine so it's almost behind the cockpit, photos I've got of the Rolls Royce Private Venture Fighter (mid-engine) has the front of the engine almost at the armour plate.

Here's a pic of the model I built.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

I knew I should have mentioned that it needed to be 'adjusted'
Don't worry I'll turn it around before I glue it in (I hope) ;D

The engine in the P-39/P-63 was right up against the rear of the cockpit. Hmmm, start with a P-39 and add an Allison up front......

What are they? Racing stripes? Extra cooling fins? ;D
No it's just my way of trying to fair the rear fuselage and Griffons together, still a bit more plastikard
To fill in the gaps and then P.S.R.

In building my model cars I work on the eyeball engineering principle "If it looks right it is right".  I think that this can probably also be applied to aircraft.  And this looks right to me ;D

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
