On an amusing note, I had to repaint the 'Bird' on the Aquila as my son swears it reads 'Big A** Biro'.

Getting very mentally distracted with the idea of a long-term redesign of the Revellogram B-36...boxing in the undercarriage bays, rebuilding the weapons bays, overall rescribing, exposed gun-turrets and maybe 1/48thing the whole airframe (larger gunner's blisters etc). It'll still be bigger than the 1/48 B-29 and have those luverly rear pointing nacelles. It's that 'orrible greenhouse canopy I want to get rid of though.... .

Finished the medium range high altitude escort fighter. Still need to do the long range high and medium range medium altitude fighters:



Thought the others were looking a bit benign so changed the props and added some sensor equipment:

Of course the lengths of the wings have no effect on my opinion..........

Floats and trolley from Tamiya's Kawanishi Kyofu kit.

Hah!  I was just looking at that thinking "I recognise those floats..."

....slightly sunk as I dropped her and broke off the floats. Gives me an excuse to move the main float further forward but not yet, not yet.....the Mohawk is moving along nicely. I've also been fiddling with a mixed power experimental .

Obviously FW 190 float planes are cursed as the same thing happened to mine.

1/48 Mohawk?  I've just started a Hasegawa 1/72.  It's ummmm, lets just say it shows it's age.
Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours.

My single float Fw190 keeps on losing one of its wing floats too, but as they're from a Rufe that's hardly surprising. Full size the struts would be about 6" x 3"!

I usually use nothing but superglue on my builds but it is surprisingly brittle....very strong but on such things as small surface area struts, then brittle. The solution is Gorilla superglue (strong AND flexible). I'd run out but picked some up this morning and the fix is now solid; a bit of filler, a sand and a blast of primer....:



The Mohawk is coming on nicely but Lord is the Roden kit borderline cottage industry. Everything needs test-fitting, cutting, filling, sanding.... . Beautifully detailed tho!

Ditto that.

I thought the dip in the front edge of the canopy on my 1/72 Mohawk was due to crappy moulding.  I now see it's not.
Should you be in the mood for accuracy there are lots of useful cockpit interior shots here.
Immediate realisation how far from reality simple 1/72 cockpit "glass" is.

I hate the brittleness of superglue and only use it where instant grab is required.  For something like a wing float with a single post i'd pin it and use styrene cement so as to get a chemically fused bond.
To each his (or her, thank you Reg) own however.

Enforced break....achieved nothing since the last post. Too much pain to stand, sit, walk etc for long. Physio keeps explaining about losing battles to win wars but Ch***t it's painful.

Putting thought toward 1 wk GB. I take it planning and measuring is allowed? Got an idea but at present missing major parts so I'll have to pull my finger out or I'll withdraw.

I sometimes wonder if Physios/Chiros had ever experienced the pain themselves then they might be a bit more compassionate.
I find swearing loudly and often whilst trying to manoeuvre through the pain helps.
What doesn't help is when you've just painfully lowered yourself down onto the floor or couch (wherever you chose to nest when crippled) and some fuzzy bunny rings the doorbell.
You'll get through it.  I know it doesn't seem like it sometimes but you will.

Embarrassing situation:

Had to go to the Deputy Head's office 'cos my Daughter was being her usual self. I was standing painfully by the door just as we were getting the usual lecture about 'bad language'. My Wife says "Oh! We don't use that kind of language at home!" Door is opened suddenly by Headmaster,  driving the doorknob into my lower back with force. The office air turned various shades of blue (imagine x-rated Muttley expletives).

The look on the Deputy Head's face said it all!
