You really cleaned out the spare parts box on this one!

Funny you should say that...I've had these great pieces in the box for ages and decided they were going to be used, come what may. Saved a couple for the next project. If you look carefully at this one you can just about guess which jet will form the base model of the next

I love it.  There is just so much going on with bits & bobs & lumps & spikes & weapons everywhere.
Finish is a little too matt for my liking but that's a matter of personal taste.

I love the 'flying tail' that's holding the fuel tanks. Now there's a neat idea ! Might have to save that one.

Taking on board Gondor's comment about a lack of progress pictures (my excuse being PB...all fixed now and super-fast) I'll try and post pictures as I go along.

Whilst putting the 'Sarkosookus' to one side whilst I decide on markings etc, I'll start on an escort fighter. Was going to use a Skyhawk but to be honest half the work's already done and it felt like a cop-out. Two hours happy browsing through the spares box revealed a long forgotten 98% J7W Shinden  and the ideas flowed:

  Wonderful! This is like a new generation of twin-boom: big fuselage and little booms. I love this. I think I am going to draw similar Lightnings, referring to Librarian for the invention.

Starting to look good ! A lot smaller and more nimble looking that the previous example.

Finished for now. Still haven't fully decided on further camo and markings but I'm leaning towards VVS '46/Sci-Fi VVS theme....all those gorgeous cyrillic slogans :







Do I now go with a Skyhawk or the Troop Carrier.....

Cool. Looks very sleek with that canopy ! The last shot looks like a Viper from BSG.

A troopship would look great sitting with these two.
