Some very interesting work you have going on here, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your stuff as things go, man.

Something I've been working on and off for many months....then the cat sat on it so I lost interest. An uparmoured Me410 to replace the Hs129. Going to do something similar but with another aircraft.

Thank you. Just a note to say that unfortunately the Invader was never completed; think the problem was that I've just never much liked the look of the plane.

Having picked up a Ta-154 recently I feel that this is a design with much potential, but being a whiff it will be strong and metal...no Mosquito rip-offs here ;D.

I always think like a youngster with his hard-extorted pocket money when building a kit. You, me, we are experienced modellers and can overcome most modelling hurdles but if this was a kit being built by a young one then a mess of glue and plastic followed by a rejection of the hobby could result.

Excellent point, well made

I am not a youngster but as I am rather new to the plastic model scene and have a really small budget I would like to ask if anyone has done a list of brands or production runs to be avoided by the inexperienced? I am not against the occasional failure or complex kit though as I do need to start a spare airframe and parts collection!

Your best bet is to simply ask here.  Create a thread with an inquiry about a particular subject.  I occasionally do, with "which is the better or best xxx?"  Also, do a bit of research on your own, do a google search on your subject with the word "review" on the end and see what comes up.  There are specialist review sites out there and they'll tell you the pitfalls of a particular kit.

Very good advice. My No.1 : If you feel the need to build a 1/48 P-61 then bite the bullet and try to find a cheap-as-possible Great Wall kit. The Monogram/Revell kit has really had its day...shrunken molds etc. Superb for spare parts though .

Nice one. The gun looks awesome and the finish on the plane looks great too.

I do like the Me 410. The gun looks right because some models of the '410 did carry a 50mm cannon operationally as a bomber destroyer in 1944. But I DO like the idea of it as a tank destroyer as well...

Slowly starting a new project. Pretty broke right now as I've blown my last few months's allowances on some art...here's one I hope you'll appreciate:

Buying the pictures is only half the cost, the frame adds up something whoooooo! I thought the red frame with a green and white mount looked nice.

This is the Ta-154.

Going to be COIN and modernised. Filled and sanded the gun troughs about four times but just couldn't get them true. Then thought "Hey! Just scab on armour plate like the B-25s etc". The port trough is for an internal 20mm Gatling which fits nice and snug. Have to go slow as I need some odds and sods but can't afford them right now.

Like the art and especially the frame
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Captain Canada

Very neat print and the frame really sets it off !

I've made the decision that I'm building this machine as a tail-sitter, mainly due to the fact that she's designed to operate from very rough (loose soil, maybe muddy etc) strips and the nose area can be used for more interesting things ;), and lets be honest, I can't be bothered to cram great weights of lead into a limited space to keep her from going that way anyway. The tail wheel will be longer and stronger to keep the fuselage etc away from clogging.

I've seen photos and footage of aircraft operating in these conditions in Canada/Alaska and these aircraft (I think one was a twin otter) had large tyres. Are these special tyres for these conditions...can they allow an aircraft to carry more weight and get a grip? Any input greatly appreciated.

Thank youuuu. Just what the doctor ordered:

Yep, they are special tyres for the conditions but, rather than giving extra grip, they're primarily designed to greatly reduce the ground pressure of the aircraft by significantly increasing the area of tyre in contact with the ground.
