Funny you should say that.....I've been hoping a Tamiya kit comes up somewhere cheap. I'd like to put both wings together then balance them on top of a Catalina with some Belcher Bits conversions. WAY too much mooloutlay right now though .

Does anyone do an RW Pond Racer?

I saw it once, at Anoka Co. Airport just north of Minneapolis and you think your brain has become disconnected with your eyes, it looks SO weird.

Not much of a conversion but in the sequence she's not a dedicated high-altitude escort, produced quickly through conversion due to delays to the dedicated design (delayed by design troubles). Paddle props, two-stage supercharger and single central underfuselage scoop. Underwing drop tanks give her the extra required range. Unlike her stablemate she is not pressurised, pilots within this squadron wear pressure suits on all types. When replaced and recalled, she stayed on as a Commander's P/A and Met aircraft for the squadron as a whole:









She really should have slightly longer wings but I like the look of these wings, plus in my world she a short-lived blocker awaiting replacement.

Love the big prop and the new rad. Very well done. Although she may have been more practical with a longer wing, you're right...she looks good just like that ! No offense Kit

New Year's blues have hit very hard....borderline depression really. Torn between reality and whiffery.

Reality is self-torture because I know I'm never happy with anything I build and it all ends up in the spare-parts bins, yet i can't help thinking about it.

Whiffery is sheer pleasure and exercises both mind and skills. I'm happy 85% of the time, but I find focus so damn difficult. I've currently five half-built projects and about ten more in my head yet cannot concentrate on a single one. Trying to take time-off but find myself fiddling with plastic before I even know I'm doing it.

My wife's solution is to put everything up in the attic, padlocked with the key in her possession, and get back to reading (which has really suffered of late). Oh well.......

Many of us suffer from the same affliction. Just a personality trait of like minded individuals. I keep vowing to finish projects yet keep starting new ones. And as you said, the ideas.....they just keep coming.

Thank you. Really helps. I took the Wife's advice and locked the bulk of it up in the attic. The key is... ... but . That leaves me the two Do335 projects and the SpitXII/Airacobra to get on with. The sticking point was a 1/72 Catalina that I've been converting to 1/48 with new wings, tails etc. That can now wait it's turn. Ages ago I converted a Catalina into an Ekranoplanish-looking troop-carrier and I'd love to do that again but, once again....... .
