As part of the MLAEP (mid-life airframe extension program) initiated in 1980, the Eagle GR.3's were fitted with the Concorde derived Eagle F.4 engines, as well as LRMTS, improved EW systems and updated electronics and a new radar.  Many improvements made to the cockpit, making it a more work friendly area.  The canopies were replaced with all clear, but still gold tinted, units, giving better all round visibility.

VERY plausible, and very well modelled too.

That's the 1/48 kit, isn't it?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yes. I tend to only (mainly) work in 1/48 due to sausages for fingers and terrible eyesight, lol

I've noticed a few improvements I already need to make, as well as a few upgrades to the GR.1 to bring it up to spec....

From an old resin Shar FA.2 conversion I've had knocking around for years.  Fitted almost perfectly.

Wingtip RWR pods are from an F-111 kit, ECM pods I think.  EW jammer bulges are from the spares box, drop tank halves I think.  The chaff/flare pods are also F-111.  Tanks are modified Airfix Tonka Hindenbergs, while the LGBs are Flightpath resin/PE.  The cockpit is a modified F-15E PE set.  The IFR probe is just a piece of sprue.  LRMTS is a random bit I found in the spares box.

Unfortunately the close up photos show up or accentuate a lot of things I missed by eye.....

As Kit said , " very plausible " , looks just right for an updated TSR2 , great modelling .

Nose job makes a big difference.  Nice work.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

TallEng

Splendid  and as the others have said, the new nose suits it,
Made me think of 360Sqn and ELINT.

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Oh tghat is bloody brilliant! As others have said, it looks very plausable. The nose looks spot as a modification/upgrade

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?
