It may be terrible box art, but knowing Starfix it could be an exact representation of what's in the box!  ;D

Actually I'll go on record as saying that, as bad as they may be, Starfix are a great kit to throw at a young kid and say "have some fun". You don't have to worry that they're getting gluey fingerprints all over an expensive tamigawa kit, and in my admitedly limited experience they go together easily.

EDIT: just looked and it ain't Starfix, never heard of whatever company that is, just assumed Starfix from your thread title.

I love the way it says "USS ENTERPRISE" right above "ISRAEL": now that'd be a "destabilising" arms transfer....

Check out their Japan Air Lines Concorde too: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-Vintage-CONCORDE-JAL-Japan-Airlines-Airplane-Model-Kit-Malka-Bros-Israel-/291058895782

Just raided the vendor's ebay shop for images to save them for posterity/hilarity 'cos they don't last forever on ebay. I'll put them up on the old Worst Box Art thread: cheers Major!

PR19_Kit

It says the 'Buy Now' price is about £85. Shouldn't he be payingthe BUYER the £85 to get rid of it????  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Dave, just looked in the 'book', and something odd.  It says Malka Brothers (an Israeli company) made kits available in the mid 70's and all were copies of other company models.  This kit is supposed to say F4B, not F48 and it's origin is the Revell kit, not sure about the 60's vintage note though ---

It's a copied Nitto 1/250 scale Concorde, once again from the mid 70's when Malka Bros operated according to PAK-20

I had assumed it was starfix from the sellers other auctions.
Have to say, if i had a spare £85 i'd buy it just for the sheer oddity of it!
Love to see it sitting, built, on my shelf.
Going to have to try and find a pm model or revell F-4 easy kit and build a looky-likey!
Cheers... Ray

You could quite easily do something in the same ilk by picking a Phantom with colourful USN markings then getting a sheet of Israeli stars and some lettering and mashing the decals together. In fact, you might be able to do it from just the kit options in the classic Airfix kit: the one that has about five options, including a USN F-4B and an IAf F-4E.

I had in mind something similar for a ficticious "Hollywood Bad" movie about the Falklands War. A cigar-chomping producer looking at test footage of the "Sea Harriers" (actually surplus USMC AV-8Bs) complains that audiences won't know which side's which, so the "SHARs" end up painted royal blue over white with a red stripe, a Union Flag on the fin and ENGLISH NAVY in big letters everywhere... ;)

Hahaha....I never noticed the USS Enterprise markings.....that's too funny ! Somebody should build one just like it and display it with the box art.

Captain, exactly what i was thinking!

Weaver, thought of the airfix kit straight away, but like anything here, like hen's teeth and mental money!
A few on ebay, but the postage to Ireland is mental. Would like to keep it close to the scale of the actual kit,
hence my thought on the Revell easy kit, the cheapest one, and only one i can find, is in the local MS for 11.99!
Like the idea of the 'Hollywood Harriers' though.

So do I!!   Is anyone brave/stupid /imaginative enough to   turn it round, and have ,  for instance ,  Hurricanes  as Elstree Mustangs or Albemarles as Pinewood Marauders??  All other suggestions gratefully received

I do seem to remember a thread with movie planes here somewhere.
Spanish HA-1112-M1L Buchón, impersonating Mustangs and P-47's for the movie, Patton, and hurricanes in the BoB movie!
Now, can i find it!

OR, what if the Soviets decided to make a no-expense-spared propaganda flying movie during the Cold War when they had no access to real western types? Su-15UM's playing Phantoms? Su-24's playing F-111s? Su-7's playing Lightnings?
