Thanks for info. I'd thought that RR Avon spares would be fairly easy to come by, given that only over here in Sweden, 400 spare engines for the SAAB 32 and 35 systems were procured and stored unused until ca 2001.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

I hear the engine test went well and she'll be flying today, and if that goes well back to Conningsby and final checks and she should be back on the scene. Fingers crossed !

At Bleedin last!!!!!!! Ive finally seen Vera and Thumper in the air with my own eyes on the 2nd attempt. Thank you Duxford!

tHe show organisors missed a trick. The item directly after the Lancs was the Sally B. They should have arranged a 3 ship formation with her and the Avro's as the closing fly by of the Avro 2 ship segment.

All the photos I've seen so far of the two, one is always flying astern of the other. Is there a particular reason for that ?
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

seams to have been the standard pattern adopted for the displays.
Plus it looks like Thumper acts as formation pathfinder.

Terrific pics OGL, as I'm unlikely to see them both together your pics will have to do.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

On Sunday 7th September I was in the Lake District, standing on a hill overlooking Windermere with hundreds of others. The views were fantastic!

They came through that gap in the hills... but where are they?

There they are!

Like I said, the views were cracking.... ;) ;D

Great pics lads and Nick two of your shots could get you 5 years chokie  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

;D  If you think those were risque, you should see the pics they were taking of each other! They drove to the hill (only easy way to get there!) so I'm fairly sure they were of age...

Captain Canada

Great stuff guys and congrats for finally catching the pair Martin ! And wow....what a sight Nick ! That would be so awesome to see the pair fly by....below you !

Glad to hear. OI have to admit being a little worried and upset when I first heard she was leaving...but what a triumph for everyone involved, from her designers to the CWHM boys and the BBMF for all of their support. Now maybe they can send Thumper over here to get her engine back

There's more chance of Just Jane getting back into the air than Thumper being allowed across the pond. The RAF gets very twitchy when ever she has to cross a garden pond, let alone any other body of water.
