Buried in the boneyard at CFB Borden were these two Otters. Both were found to be in fair condition. Talks are underway with DHC specialist Viking Air to see if they can be brought back to flying condition.

Ahh. Poking around the boneyard!  Love it.  Agree turboprop is a good way to go.

hmm.....Ottowa was looking for a rugged STOL transport to support Canadian troops in the 'Stan.....

Otters with big honk'n turbos would surely improve the "hot and high" performance for flying in and out of those mountain outposts.
And a couple of gunners for self protection.
