Im just waiting for a certain venerable gentleman to recommend longer wings ;D

Kit would have a blast with this design --

The Hurel-Dubois High Aspect Wing designs.  This eventually led to the Short Skyvan/Sherpa designs. Very interesting article about them in the latest Air-Britain Aviation World quarterly (Winter 2014)

Buried in the boneyard at CFB Borden were these two Otters. Both were found to be in fair condition. Talks are underway with DHC specialist Viking Air to see if they can be brought back to flying condition.
Wonderfully unusual: wingless aircraft!
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Captain Canada

That's a long wing ! Be hard to use your STOL capabilities without hitting trees and buildings

Tell me about it!  ;D

I saw the HDM.105 Aerovan fly at Farnborough one year, 1957 I think, which could explain a few things course.  ;D

As far as I'm concerned Maurice Hurel is God!  ;D

Didn't Hobbycraft do a Turbo Otter kit once?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Never seen one. I think there was a garage nose conversion though.

Couple more braces on that Aerovan and it would become a biplane!

Effectively it was a bi-plane.

Part of M. Hurel's philosophy was to use the struts as true lift producing items, and that carried onto the Skyvan and it's 360 and 390 derivatives.

Thanks for the links ! Funny that the stand alone conversion is 23 bucks, whilst the one with the decals is 25 ! I still might try and do a balsa one.

Here's a Twin I'm working on. Story is it was a former US Army bird. Looks a little more cartoonish then I had hoped but oh well, at least I'm working on finishing it !

If you look at it from the side, on an angle, it doesn't look nearly as bad  I'm going to clean it up a wee bit tho. And once the rest of the decals and bits and weathering is done, I hope it'll blend in a wee bit better.
