I'm trying to find a 1/72 F2H-2 Banshee.  Does anyone make such a critter?  I built the Hobbycraft (?) f2h-3/4 a few years ago, but I really want to do the F2H-2, Korean War vintage.

I'm willing to settle for a decent 1/48 Banjo . . .

In advance, Thanks!

The Sword 1/72 Banshee is a sweet kit.  Very nicely done.  The moulding is crisp and the resin bits a nicely rendered as well.  It's a sharp looking job even in its box.

You're right.  My mistake.  I'm sure I saw it was 1/48.  It is of course 1/72 (and I've corrected my original post).   :banghead:

Although the Airfix box only calls it an F2H, it's an F2H-2

Academy did one in 1:72, too, IIRC.

Reboxed Hobbycraft kit.  Or rather, Academy got hold of some mouldings that were not authorised for reboxing.  It's all a bit shady.

Mark Davies @ Hyper Scale has just published a review of the Sword F2H-2P Kit. Very nice kit.

Wow does it ever look like a nice kit ! I'd better get a pair for my RCN 'gonna build 'em someday' stash.

Notice the pricing in the review ? Wonder if it's correct....29 USD at Squadron and 23 CDN at West Coast Hobbies ?

Hobbycraft failed to keep making payments on the molds. Academy bought them. Not so much shady as much as Hobbycraft Canada was a hand-to-mouth operation that was perpetually on the edge of falling into money problems. Along with the Banshee, Academy obtained a whole bunch of the decent Hobbycraft molds, with the truly horrible ones winding up under the "Kitech" label. Oh, I stand corrected, Kitech also got the CF-100 and the early CF-105 molds as well.
