As promised, when i built my 1/72 HS Typhoon, I am now building a bigger and better one in 1/48.

Original post... http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,34618.0/highlight,hs+typhoon.html

Changes/improvements I wanted to make are, more detailed airbrakes, rounded, rather than square intakes (more P.1121 like), Pen knib exhaust fairing, rounded wing/canard tips, better canopy area.

Heres where I am at so far.

New analog instrument panel

Hunter top fuselage top to be grafted on

New rear airbrake housings.

And new wing tips are fitted

Fin and spine

Pen knib taking shape

New intake almost done

Nose extension

Considerably more than the real one does!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Quick update.  I've got it in gloss laquer now, ready for decalling.  On choosing the sqn, I realised I had nothing suitable, so I decided to spray them on myself....

Firstly masked, then the white base is sprayed on...

Followed by the red...

to be finished off hopefully later on...

I finished off the sqn markings.

Then applied a wash where I still could
It needs a bit of tidying up still....
