Hey yeah.....we're on the leading edge of the Comet wing....rock and roll.

Should be definitely unsupervised too and promoting the SIG of GOTH.
Be afraid!!

 :dalek:

Hmmm... promoting the Goth SIG on the leading edge of an airliner's wing? Not like this I hope.....

;D ;)

Good show as always, and nice to catch up with folk.

The new location and stand layout really worked well IMHO

had a great day chatting with all and sundry on the table, I count today as a win, we had plenty of people leave the stand smiling , and only  a couple of nay-sayers, and the whiffing seems to be spreading, there were quite a few I spotted on other stands, ( it seems that the airfix Angel interceptor is popular for it,, possibly its cheap and readily available and being a sci fi kit doesn't mess with peoples heads when they alter it).
and as always, lots of lovely stuff on display a browse through martins pics is well worthwhile if you haven't already.
I also had some Darleks, some space 1999 astronaut's,  some steam-fi mole vehicles and  figures and a Jaffar and System lord.   It made folks smile and question
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

Great show by all.
Tell me Martin who's , and what, is that Handley Page thing?

Any aircraft can be improved by giving it a SHARKMOUTH!

ah ha that would be Richard Brookers HP Harpenden. Trevor has issued a fatwa on it as it desicrates the name of Handley page in his eyes.

The flying Briefcase has become the Flying Holdall.

A splendid day at Cosford indeed. I too got the impression that the Joe Publics were more accepting of the Whiff genre this year. I spent a considerable time explaining the whys and wherefores of my Whiffed airliners to them, which was pleasing.

Some piccies of mine here, showing the SIG stand in its entirely and some notable Whiffs elsewhere in the show.

An AEW BAC 1-11

1/144 Bomber Command

Prop driven Canberra

RAE Angels Interceptor

And last but least  there was Weaver's amazing PR Gnat. I'd only seen it on the Forum before but in real life it's AWESOME! And I know it's all a big pun on me, but it looks great, superb job Weaver.

That's brilliant!  Love it to bits - looks like a salamander with wings.  In fact just Googled and found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellbender.

I have two HP whif projects in the long list of stuff to do and hereby claim the names 'Hillingdon' and 'Haringay'.

Radish

Loved the BAC-111 AEW, and the bombed up VC-10 of course.
Wish Airfix would re-release it.

Did anyone spot the RAF Cavalier Mustang in training colours? Looked very nice in white, red and grey.

Thanks for the photos Martin and Kit. Good display lads

Reading peoples names for their HP wiffs reminds me that it's the part of whiffery I find the most difficult. I come up with a name and it sounds silly, even if I use that manufacturer's naming conventions, if any. Others come up with a name and it sounds right  Must be something physiological me thinks ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

that's not quite true! its just sacreligous. to me it looks more like a cousin of the Bristol Buckmaster.  ;D

my favorite model on the stand was Weaver's F9F Panther in FAA markings. sweet and believable.
