Not sure if this has been on before, and I've only looked at this one page to see the Beaver.....probably az few other gems on the other pages.

Love the Beaver Cap'n. I have always liked all the DHC family. I have flown in Chipmunks. I have seen, and in some cases photographed, Beavers, Otters, Caribou, Buffalo, Twotter, and Dash 7. I saw the prototype Buffalo as it passed through Prestwick on it's way to the Paris air show.
However this was the only time that I have ever seen a Turbo Beaver :

This was an entrant in the 1969 Daily Mail Trans-Atlantic air race, it was here at Prestwick for a late afternoon fuel stop.
The photo must be credited to Peter Berry, a retired ATCO, now in his 90's and very active in the aviation history field here in Scotland.

Awrabest,

Jim.

Some outfit does a resin conversion for that, in 1/72 I think ---  Now who was it    :banghead: :banghead:

JayBee

If memory serves me correctly Airfix Magazine did an article on how to scratch build the conversion.

The company called Lift Here makes a resin 1/72 kit of the Turbo Beaver

Captain Canada

Lift here eh ? Off to check that out. Should be easy enough to scratch tho.

Yes, Lift Here stuff is pricey, but it's superbly moulded and many of their kits are unique. I have their Short Sealand, and it's magnificent, but eye-wateringly expensive.  :o

I still can't figure out how they got their name though........
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I was surprised by how small it is compared to a Sunderland, like a Grumman Goose (maybe a bit bigger but not as big as an Albatross)
