After a little landing problem in 2012 Sea Vixen XP924 is making a return to the flying circuit
Seems the landing gear didn't go down like it should have so they had to rebuild the underside of the aircraft as well as some internal parts. Probably needed new underwear too

There's been mention in various aviation magazines that the Sea Vixen could be moved to the FAA Historic Flight in the future. Can you imagine a flypast by the Vixen and the Sea Hawk?

Flying the Vixen alongside their Swordfish is probably NOT an option though!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I hope it does end up with the RNHF, perhaps they can also get a Buccaneer flying to go with it as that would be a tasty vintage pair

You know you are getting old when all those aircraft you remember flying at Biggin Hill shows as in-service machines are now in historical flights

Just hope that doesn't happen at the Shuttleworth Collection!  :o

Great news ! And what a gorgeous set of photographs in the accompanying link.....thanks Nick ! That shot out over the water with the cliffs behind is awesome......can just see her lining up with the carrier. Just wish she wasn't turning away in that Vulcan shot.

The Sea Vixen and Sea Hawk flypast would be brilliant!!

I guess you could always strap the Swordfish down to the Sea vixen - There's you flypast. Well, more of a piggy back than a flypast but you get the idea.

I think I remember seeing Sea Vixens flying over Malaya in the late 60's.  :-\ ;) ;D
I know I remember seeing the red and white Javalin from Boscombe Down when we lived in Andover in the early to mid 70's.   ;D

She's been flying again for a while - this is her at Yeovilton last summer:

Good to hear she's fully re-certified though - a stunning machine to watch flying.
