I bought and built this model when stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky in 1974. It is OOB except for the paint. The Cheyenne was such a hot performing aircraft that it deserved an Air Force type paint-job. Army helos, since Vietnam are Flat O.D. Helo Drab with black lettering. I substituted Gray for one of the Greens in the Vietnam camouflage  scheme. This was one of the first models that I used, the then newly-discovered, Humbrol paints on.

Adios, Larry.

That looks great! And you have carried it around all these years. And still in the proper number of pieces.

I always loved the Cheyenne, a pity it never made it into service.

Your model looks as if it DID make it in though.

Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Very nice work.
Like the Cheyenne, someday I'll follow in your footsteps with a USN or USMC.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Spooky.  I was reading about these this morning.
Nice build.  I wish some of my stuff from back then had survived.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Very very nice! The SEA scheme - or, in your case, the SAC scheme - fits very nicely on the AH-56. Well done, and even more so for keeping it in AWESOME condition for 40 years!

Quite nicely done.  The Cheyenne always looked a bit of a beauty.  What scale is it?  1/48?
