I won this on E-bay.

Did one many years ago and even then I thought it was a bit lacking.  Having since done the Mobeius Mk2, it needs some serious upgrading. So, first up is to open up the canopy.  Literally!

Before

After

Then of course it needs a cockpit.

After that I meshed over the hole in the nose.

Next on the agenda, undercarriage bays

Forgot to mention, the nose bay was done before I closed up the nose

Devilfish

I made a template so I could reasonably accurately drill out some thrusters.

Assemblies coming together and red stripes being applied

Paint, and some decals off a Mk2 for continuity

And where I am right now.  Building some landing gear for it.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

AWESOME!!  :drink:

Always liked the Mk1 - great to see someone dressing that kit up properly - nice one!!

PR19_Kit

Some hefty work you've put into that, nice one.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Nice job on that.

Ticked all the "that needs doing" boxes as well

Captain Canada

Wow....great job on the upgrades ! I guess it was a little lacking eh ? Looks awesome now !

Last night I tried to glaze the canopy.  Oh my, what a job..... :banghead:  Really hard to make up pieces that fit and I can actually stick in place.  Just getting them the right size and shape is a major task!!  I tried several methods.  All had their good and bad points.  Managed to get the front part done, but the reat part of the canopy, with it's much smaller windows is proving to be a little difficult!!

There is an upgrade set available for this kit - perhaps Starship Modeller would have it in stock - it includes a clear canopy IIRC...
