Down near the airport, by the former air base is Warbird Park. This nose is dedicated to nose art. Might be from an ATR-142, there seems to be a lot of them floating around the airport in various states.

The display a/c include an A-10, A-7D Corsair and an F-100.

Here's some a/c on the ramp at the old base. Saw both these take off when we were waiting to leave.

There is an aviation tech school there and it appears they also work on ATRs and Dorniers. Always nice to see some Canadians around as well

You could have been at Old Trafford last Saturday with that first one Capt
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Did you make it to the USS North Carolina, or down to the USS Yorktown?  As much as you love your daughter, surely 4 days of cheering competetion would entitle a side trip.

My feelings exactly !

We were only at the competition on 2 days tho, and it was only about an hour and a half total !

Didn't do either. Nobody other than me was really into it, so it was decided that I'd do it on our next trip down there. We have family we can stay with in Wilmington so maybe later in the year.

What no interest from a cheer aged daughter and family to see a battleship?  Surely you have not properly trained them!  ;)  Do visit the NORTH CAROLINA when you can, it is well worth it.  I could spend a good 3 hours or so, my family about 45 minutes, then Mrs. Sandiego89 would likely sit on a bench and say "no I'm fine... take your time...".   Perhaps sneak away by yourself while they sleep in.
