So they just rolled them over the side and then turned sharply away ?

Some WW1 period torpedo boats dropped their torps over the stern, and then turned away VERY sharply!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The G5s did, they were scaled up from WW1 boats and built in aluminium, very quick. My 1/35th scale model back in the '90s was too, but bloody unstable - too small for the RC tech then

Just a random though as I'm about to go to bed: If you bought a pair of those G-5s, what aircraft could you put them on as floats? :unsure:

You've both just solved a problem I had.  :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

I bought a Gotha G.III for the Flying boat GB to do a twin hulled flying boat.  Trouble was I couldn't find a donor for the floats.  I decided that it'd be easier to carve a pair but never settled on the shape.  I'll still have to as the Brengun kit is too expensive to buy two, but now I've got the shape!  Cheers!

The 1/35 kit would make for the basis of an interesting 1/72 flying boat.

Or use the 1/72 kit for a smaller plane retaining the rear launched torpedoes...

And having seen it I realise I am aware of that method of launching torpedoes, I just never thought of the practicalities of it before  :o

I suppose you could have a time delay on the detonator ? Doesn't become "live" until so many turns of the small prop at the front ?

Those Soviet ones appear to have been ejected by compressed air, given the tanks immediately in front of the torpedoes. I was thinking some poor sod had to push/roll them into the sea. Told you I'd not thought of the practicalities  ;)
