Neat idea...looking forward to it

Just saw another prototype in the Bristol magazine that's out now, the one with the lower wing....never knew it existed ! Looks rather sharp, and fast !

WingS: one under each rotor!  T'was the Type 173 "Aerocoach" if I remember correctly: looked faster than it was though because it still had radial piston engines.

I have a Belvedere Mk.2 project in plan, but by the time I'd fixed everything that was wrong with the real one, there was almost none of it left.....

Haa!  So did you come up with a CH-46 or a CH-47?  ;D

Nope  - current plan is a scaleorama'd 1/100th Yak-24 fuselage (almost the exact length of the 1/72nd Belvedere) with a scaleorama'd Skycrane cockpit (needs to be widened though). Podded engines (pen tops) but still one front, one back (on opposite sides...). Wings, undecided, but Magister ones looking favorite. Undercarriage to be decided based on wing choices. Belvedere bits: both rotors and the rear mast.... ;D

A tad complicated, which is why it's still a thought experiment at the moment.... ;D

Work has begun.

Switched top hinge door to a slider door, installed scratch guide rails, cut out window.  Test fit, still needs clean up.

With the sliding door open, it reveals a total lack of interior details, so had to scratch up a floor from sheet stryrene, forward bulkhead and some framing opposite the door.

Tow steps forward, one step back.  Love these old kits.

Wow, some poor die maker must have lost his mind making the holes for all those rivets! Are you going to sand them down at all or just leave them as is? Love those old kits......

Leaving them, being true to the original kit as much as possible!

At least they're more to scale than some kits I could mention...

This looks great.
What chance the moulds for this and the Rotodyne are still knocking around?  Round 2 are currently repopping some of the old AMT & MPC car kits and it wouldn't hurt Airfix to do the same.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

A quick google shows it last issued in 2001, so Airfix had the moulds fairly recently.

Yes it would, but I'd rather see a retooled DH.88 Comet.  Or a Halifax B.III.  Or indeed a new Hawker Hart family.

What, you want them to make it a bit of a dog?  ;)

Some more fuselage work, and weapons test fit.

Production version horizontal stab from styrene sheet. Scratch rescue hoist above starboard door.  Scratch fuselage pylon station port and starboard, believe they were for fuel tanks.

Machine gun in window, rocket pod.  Larger, better tires.  Kit tires pretty sad looking.
