this time the Maintrack Tornado conversion for the Airfix Typhoon. Reminds me of the quality we get from Unicraft. However I will persevere...

That  one is engineered for the old Airfix Typhoon. Ive no idea how it would work if your trying to use the current tooling.

I did a Tornado from the same set years ago and found it quite simple.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

I've got that conversion too and it's stalled.

Maintrack's resin stuff was pretty hit and miss.  Couln't fault the enthusiasm but they were largely miss AFAIC.

Mind, comparing his stuff to Unicrap is a bit harsh, surely?  Even at his worst, Pete Lockhart was never *THAT* bad?  A more apt comparison would be early MPM compared to Merlin.  At least Pete used decent resin (mostly...), not paint tinted fibreglass resin.

I think mine has some issues with the moulding. The wing roots don't match each other and certainly don't fit the old mould Typhoon wings without loads of filling. ..

That's the one...  Mine's the same.
