SWMBO doesn't like my dirty little habit and certainly doesn't want me displaying them anywhere where anyone could see them / distract them from viewing her Swarovski collection. Then, of course, there's her collection of shoes, 89 pairs at the last count, do I sound bitter ??

That sounds VERY unreasonable to me, she needs a few words from Mrs_PR19.

SHMBO has deemed it necessary that I start reducing the stash so four quick builds.

Which rather begs the question 'Does a stash continue to be a stash once it's been built'?

One for the lawyers I think ?  ;D

I once pointed at a girlfriend's huge shoe collection and just asked "why ?". Answer was basically a 3 day silence and no fun for me for a month. In the end the only way out of it, yup you guessed it, was to go shopping with her for shoes  :banghead: Ah the things we did for peace, quiet and a little light noise occasionally

Went our separate ways after 3 years or so, still friends though

When faced with that sort of situation, just ask yourself - 'what would Putin do'?

I concur - EXTREMELY unreasonable!! I had this with my ex! Which is one reason she is an ex!!!!

My girlfriend is into crafting, specifically card making. She spends as much as she reasonably can on dies, paper and the like which I naturally support as she supports me and my model making, several of you will have met her at the two main Scottish shows in the last couple of years. She is a great support to my addiction, its the least I can do to support her in hers especially as there is some mutual crossover in tools and a few other items. Not living together helps as well  ;D

Sounds as though you have a real gem there.  Lucky both of you.

Madame Rheged and I support each other , in the same way that Mr & Mrs PR_19 work as a team. I'm  sure that Kit and several others would agree "When you find a good one, keep hold of them!!"

In answer to Kitbasher's question "what would Putin do?"...........Just wait until you see Speznatz troops coming out of Dolcis,  or Clarks or Stead and Simpsons.

Stead and Simpson - now that's a blast from the past. Didn't realise they were still going

The to be Mrs nighthunter and I work as a team, and we support each other's hobbies, without getting directly involved. We also share tools. Definitely a keeper!

Bungle

Hi Guys... Please don't get the wrong idea Mrs Bungle (we'll call her Zippy for short) and I have been married 37 years plus 4 years of quaintly named 'courting' before that. So a keeper - yes.  I dabbled in modeling from an early age but found the 'courting' and the early stages of marriage a little more fun / creative / sticky than gluing things together so the hobby was dropped. Plus in my early age I played a lot of sport - which she attended and supported. Then our brat boy came along and again more distractions. As he reached his teens it was obvious he was not just following in dad's footsteps but out classing him in the field of play sports-wise. This meant all resources were pumped into going around the country supporting him with most weekends away in some dingy hotel and long silent drives back following a bad performance (rare).

Anyway I digress, short and long of it is I've only started serious modelling in this century (sounds weird), in just over ten years. Misuse and self-abuse during my sporty years have left me with a hip replacement (6 years ago), an expected knee replacement (on waiting list), a fused ankle (only 50% of Achilles ligament left) and arthritis in my right hand - I'm 58 by the way. So while I've been away gallivanting with or without my son in the UK and Europe Zippy has been at home making it her own, collecting her crystal (and shoes). Truth is I agree with her the models would look out of place in our lounge - where else would I display them. Our son runs his business from the spare room (he doesn't live at home being married with three kids of his own), the Shed is his storage so all I have is the box room which is also my work place on the days I work from home.

So I have been a little harsh. We are a team. When I'm modelling (every night for at least an hour while the soaps are on) she supplies me with tea and ginger nuts. And as she gazes at the stash of 300+ kits I can see here mind ticking over but I just say 'Shoes' and she smiles and goes back to surfing for slingbacks.....

.... anyway I have a direct line to the world renown peacemaker Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin (just in case)

Reminds me of the Monty Python sketch 'Arthur Two-Sheds Jackson'

Host: Last week the Royal Festival Hall saw the first performance of a new symphony by one of the world's leading modern composers, Arthur 'Two sheds' Jackson. Mr. Jackson.

Jackson: Hello.

Host: May I just sidetrack for one moment. This -- what shall I call it -- nickname of yours...

Jackson: Ah yes.

Host: "Two sheds". How did you come by it?

Jackson: Well, I don't use it myself, but some of my friends call me "Two Sheds".

Host: And do you in fact have two sheds?

Jackson: No, I've only got one. I've had one for some time, but a few years ago I said I was thinking of getting another, and since then some people have called me "Two Sheds".

Host: In spite of the fact that you only have one.

Jackson: Yes.
