F-15 Air to Ground Avionics

Prior to the decision to strip off the air-to-ground weaponry from the F-15, what equipment was it to use?

I'm pretty sure it used something like a CCIP system, did it use a laser-designator or something else?

As far as I know, it used air-to-ground radar modes for ranging, the HUD gave the pilot targeting cues, and smart-bomb imagery could be displayed on the radar scope. Reading through my book on the aircraft, there doesn't seem to have been much A2G-specific hardware to "strip out": it was all software modes, basically. The book's not entirely clear on the subject, but the impression created is that the 1976 decision to remove the A2G role was mostly a policy one to stop training for the mission, rather than the removal of specific hardware.
