There seem to be two of these kits around, one is A02067, which is the one I have, in 111 Sqdn. and Belgian AF markings, and the other is A01010, which seems to be in 85 Sqdn. markings.

But one is £2 more expensive than the other, so what's the difference between them?

01010 has one marking option, whereas 02067 has two. It's the same as for the Tomahawk/P-40 and Spitfire kits.

Ahah, thanks very much.

As I just need some extra plastic bits that's saved me £2.00

Yup basically as Pyro says but for £2 extra as well as the 2 markings options you also get the bits to make the cheaper boxing as well. So some bits for the spares box.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

OK, now I'm confused again.

What plastic bits AREN'T in the cheaper one that ARE in the expensive one? The sprues don't look all that seperable to me.

Apparently, sprue E is omitted, for the early MkI, from the cheaper boxing, seen here,

No doubt the bits you were wanting!

Hm, that kyboshes my original scheme, which is a pity as I've just bought an A01010 based on the previous advice.  :banghead:

Having said that the bit I really needed was the 2 blade prop, but I may have a resin one kicking about somewhere. The taller rudder can be cut to size and the deepened rear fuselage can also be cut and sanded down I guess.

Kit I have that early Hurricane sprue - 2 bladed prop, short rudder and original keel knocking around if you want it ? 2 of my plans envisage latter Mk I's and only one will need the earlier fit

Interesting stuff....thanks for the heads up guys ! I guess buying both to get the markings ( for the stash and Belgian roundels always look so good ) and then buy a few of the expensive ones for more spares box filler !

That sounds  EXCELLENT Chris, thanks so much.

Now if only I could find that pesky Tigercat I said you could you could have when we were at the MK Show we could 'balance' the deal.  :banghead:

£2, Kit.  Basic maths.  ;)

Argh, apologies, Kit. I wasn't aware of that. :( I may have a suitable two-bladed prop if you need one...?

Capt and others lets be clear.

The more expensive boxing contains two markings options - 111 Sqd RAF and the Begian AF plus the extra plastic - 3 bladed prop, extended rudder and keel. This is the boxart http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AX02067

The cheaper boxing contains 1 marking option - RAF in France 1940 and only the parts for the latter build aircraft - 3 bladed prop etc.. I.E. you do not get the 2 bladed prop etc. This is the boxart http://www.airfix.com/shop/aircraft/172-scale-military-aircraft/a01010-hawker-hurricane-mki-172/

So for early versions you need the more expensive boxing.

Captain Canada

Thanks Chris. I checked my stash and the good news is, I don't have either boxing ! I don't think my LHS has them in yet. So I'll have to get one of each just to be sure that what you're saying is correct

PS-It's a pair of the newer mk. IIs I have in my stash.

There is no need to doubt Chris on this one Captain Canada. I have the more expensive boxing and Chris is entirely correct!
