a sailing seaplane (following : a flying boat, quite litterally)

a flying boat is a boat that flies, so I thought, maybe a bit inspired by the dornier RS series :

that I might try and fit wings, and a motor and propeller, to a boat.

For the boat I have :

which just happens  (or maybe I chose it on purpose because it hasthe nice feature) to have the same length (as a kit, let's have cross-scaling) as :

and the crossing is done in blue : it is even amphibious actually

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

... and it still looks like a Walrus.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

If the end result is still supposed to be 1/400th scale then I baggsy not swinging the prop.... ;)

Nice one Eric: you've got your own brand of crazy, and that's an achievement in the modern world...

But like Kit said you have to look twice to see what's not Walrus
About it.  ;D

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

indeed, the whif is nearly discrete ...  ;D
which brings to the idea that the Wlarus hull really looks like a boat ...
which lead to  reciprocal  to follow ...

I like this way of expressing a compliment!

considering the attempts at using flying boats for sailing (e.g., a Rohrbach) :

and the fact that wings were not quite necessary for that purpose, here is a proposal for a sailing hull,
using the other parts of the same kits as before :

Has a little bit of Ian Mc Que look to it. Nice.
Might want some hatches for the gunner's tubs in case of foul weather.

I would have been tempted to seal up the hatches, add dive planes and a conning tower and make it a submarine.
Still painting it yellow of course.

Looks good Eric.  How about a couple of crewmen fishing out of the gun positions?

the submarine idea is inspiring, thanks ! : some day maybe ...  ;)

regarding the fisherman, it remembers me of the Rufe kit from Hasegawa with an "aquarama" (a transparent resin water diorama, a funnily strange bonus): it also had a scaled crew figure, in a kind of underwear/bathing suit, and holding ... a fishing cane! I could use it here indeed, if I just knew where it is amongst my archives ...
