.....wait and see you impatient lot! :dalek:

but I can say a sortie from a secret airfield on the DMZ as OGL puts it, by a AW Meteor PR19 of the RAF's recce force has
spotted a mysterious new aircraft in X sqn markings on the pan at airfield X and is bringing back some interesting piccys.  ;D

It runs about 5-6 miles south west of our advanced observation post house.

Doesn't that make you Welsh then if your in front of the defensive line rather than behind it ?  ;D

Can you still shoot a Welshman with your longbow in Shrewsbury on a Sunday ?

Friends at Llanwern British Steel plant reckoned the real Wales started 2 miles west of the plant. Port Talbot's logo was the Welsh Dragon, Llanwern's an archer facing west  ;D Similar thing with the 2 ASW plants. Cardiff a Dragon, Scunthorpe's a St George and guess who pointed out the significance to Cardiff ?  ;D

Enjoy Bolton Howard, have a good break from the Uni work.

for the first point brother narses, i'd have to ask a legal historian and while the uni' law school is but two minutes walk away I'd hate to have to pay their fees.  ;D

I like your point about the steelworks emblems. I don't know if it ever had one, but one of my favorite sites was Shelton which if I
recall right was at the top of a bit of an incline from the mainline near Etruria station, by stoke on trent.

yup. I intend enjoying the small break at Bolton.

I don't remember Shelton having one Howard. They came about after privatisation when the powers that be were trying to encourage a pride in "your" works.

Shelton was closed soon after privatisation (I think I remember properly) as we had loads of medium/heavy section mills

hmm, going to the Bolton show yesterday with the RAF 98 sqn HS-125 ELINT a/c there was plenty to inspire me some.

if you look carefully at the photo of the 'inmates' you will see this a/c in the mid foreground towards the left of the screen.

the paint job is/was a bit rushed but when she flies to a show again, it will be repainted some.

work can now properly commence on the third and fourth HS-125 in this short series. and with it an early vote of thanks to our
kit, [aka PR19Kit] for providing sets of 1/144 airliner engines to complete these.

its been an eventful week of sorts at uni'.

for the first time in a longtime, I was involved in a minor RTA between two buses that decided to have a bit of a love-in with one losing a wing-mirror I think, as a passenger yesterday evening on one of the campus roads :banghead:

perilously little is happening on the modelling bench.

over on Captain Canada's bench he's rebuilding of sorts a pair of RF-101s. this reminded me yesterday evening when I got in from a
uni' lecture to lift my rather stalled RF-101F wiff on to the working bench. its a bit like what the Captain's doing but mine will get a
version of the 'European one' scheme and USAF ANG markings in high vis' colors. I have also worked in some resin ejector seats from
the massive box of bits I got at the cosford show last year, and an eduard F-101F etch set which surprisingly fitted the ancient
matchbox kit without much trouble.

nurse! where's the darkened room and the unobtainium choccy bars?  ;D :o ;D

the first test fit for the prop's on the RAF AC-47K [Bristol Hercules powered variant] that is on my bench happened this morning.

as I knew the kit props weren't right, as were the WM props that came with the resin engines [ex Aeroclub] nor were a set from a scrapped HP Hampden build
I had started last year, but the IM moulded ones for a spitfire II conv' [ex 3d-kits.co.uk] are just right!  so I have glued together the props and will
paint them later. it looks a little odd but I like it. I guess that as the RAF left their middle east and the gulf airfields in the 1960s and early 1970s all sorts of
bits and bobs were found in the back of the stores that had long since been forgotten about and tha's another justification for the model.
