This is the military (Tatiana's) Vanship from Hasegawa. I decided to go with the white scheme (Dio's) suggested, rather than Tatiana's red ship.
Turned out ok.

I've ordered a 1/64 1930s Alfa race car that I plan to kitbash into my own vanship whatiff-whatiff next

Looks great - nice to see one in white.

That could spawn a GB, because I have a similar plan - mine will probably bashed from a 1:72 F4U tail section and a Heller 1:43 Citroen 11CV front, ending in something compact in 1:48 scale...

Lovely work, white suits the Vanship well. Reminds me somehow of the retro Nautilus in "A league of extraordinary gentlemen"?

VickersVandal

Cool! I'd be up for a Vanship GB

This build was part of a sci fi GB itself - see here:

I'm very glad I went with the white. I agree it really suits it.

It's beautiful. I actually have no idea yet of how I'd paint mine - one candidate is a glossy Dark Green, but a reddish brown (almost like rust) could also be an option. A bright, light blue would be chic, too...

VickersVandal

I like the green or rust suggestions. I found one painted copper, which looked pretty wild. Lots of options!

How about 1950s car colours? Oxford blue (roughly RAF uniform blue), sage green etc...?

Mist green, like this Sunbeam S7:

Or you could do it two-tone, maroon and cream, for example.

Good job.
I've just finished watching Last Exile - Silver Wing is next.
Strikes me as odd that they kitted Tatiana's vanship rather than Klaus & Lavie's but maybe they thought a military kit would sell better than one of a racer?
One of the cut scenes used in a couple of episodes (round about 16 to 18) features a large number of the different vanship designs from the series.
This is the closest I could find with Goggle.

My favourites are the stripped down cave racers with the landing skids.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

OK, I have to ask. What is the torpedo looking device with an ax blade attached to it? Is this some sort of weapon? I see it only on the fighter versions.

That's an awesome find, zenrat! Scratchbuilding paradise!

Kerick, that thing is a........thing.
