Some great models,  appalling weather, but the stash has grown.
Lancaste biii
mosquito
shackleton
super mystere
hampden
and a pair of hummmwv's for a pittance
all in 1/72
plus a 1/32 Revell big bore hunter

should keep me going a while
too old for a paper round, too young for me pensions, dammit, back to work then!

As darthspud says it was a great show apart from the weather. It's the closest show to me, only 7.5 miles away in a straight line, but there's a damn great river in the way which means it's a 20 mile drive to get there.  ;D

The weather really was DIABOLICAL! Hurricane Bertha rally has a lot answer for, I've never seen such rain at a model show. It's the only time I've ever been to one where I needed a change of clothes before the place even opened, I was DRENCHED! The Hat suffered badly and is still wet some five hours after I got home!

The comment of the day came from one of our viewers, himself a modeller too, who looked upon OGL's AEW Herk with all it's wonderful protubrences front and rear and said 'Ah yes, I saw one of those Nimrods at Lossiemouth once!' To which I replied 'It's a Hercules.....'

Exit viewer in considerable embarrasment.........  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Diamondback

A buddy of mine from another board was hosting a Wings of Glory game there today, IIRC...

Howard of Effingham

as usual, andrew cleans up on the impressive model front with his various supermarine inspired creations.  ;D

but he is one great model maker.

thanks to to mike mcevoy for his beriev flying boat in 206 sqn markings. that model got a bit damp on the way
into the hall and as a result was 'authentically weathered'.

a good day was had by all. i even think IPMS avon might let us back next year too.

Anyone ever built a Chematic Shackleton?

Picked one up from the Avon Show, but the instructions are in Polish. :-\

Its the same as Frog/Novo/Revell & Modelcraft kits so you should be able to find copies online of the Revell instructions

Thanks Thorvic

one of the joys of this site, if you don't know, ask. Someone somewhere will know the answer or a work around.

Great to see everyone at the Avon Show last weekend , a great show not to be missed , can't wait for next year . By the way don't listen to Howard of Effingham , the models I took are not really that good close up , but thanks anyway Trevor.
