Thats nicely built for a venerable kit like the Battle, Chris.

As to the big serials, perhaps they'd had too many complaints and wanted to make sure that the culprits could be easily identified by irate tax payers?  ;D

A couple of larger aircraft in NIVO would add to the scene too.

Avro Manchester springs to mind

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

If you add in my Hawker Furys and silver Hurricane then we have the makings of a Theme Build for Telford. I'd like to see some other countries like a French Dewoitine or a shiny silver Heinkel 100 with a big red and black swastika or some USAAF P-35s....

I've had exactly the same thoughts Nick, although I was thinking more of Eastern European AF's. There's some superb profiles on site for Czech and Polish aircraft.

As for German aircraft ? In my scenario there is no war because Hitler is removed from power, however that's my explanation and others might have other idea's. The idea of silver He 100's and early Me 109's appeals though. As an aside I wonder what a reborn Luftwaffe would have looked like without Hitler in power ? Would his democratically elected successors, or indeed a Military Government, have followed the same procurement policies ? Would there have been different favourite companies/designers ?

Wouldn't the colour for German aircraft have been RLM 63 Hellgrau?
I've got a wonderful decal sheet from aero master for pre-war He51's

Of course you'd want replace the swastika with the German flag colours or something, but a early 109 or 190
Would look good?

And on another subject what about the Fleet Air Arm? Wouldn't they also go to the show?

Sea Hurricane in silver with those big carrier ID stripes?

A He 70 (either Luftwaffe or Lufthansa civil airliner) would also fit well?

The He 51s should be RLM63 - Modelmaster has a very good enamel for that. RLM02 could also be an option, but that's rather ugly - even  a Bf 109 or Fw 190 prototype (with the big spinner!) should NOT turn up in this ugly color!

With folding wings? And a Dagger engine as the FAA liked air cooled engines?

NOW I know what to do with my 'spare' fabric winged Hurricane Mk 1.

I've got that Be-200 kit and it looks pretty good in the box. Like Mike's, mine stands NO chance of being built OOB.

Very much so Keith, my  :banghead: moment

As well as thinking about a Defiant converted into a light bomber I'm also thinking about a couple of possible F.A.A. types and maybe a Morane 406 with some 1930's style French personal markings - I have the transfers

Speaking of the timeline i assume the Spanish Civil War goes ahead but is less conclusive without German intervention on the side of Franco ?, do the Russians still strike into Finland is Japan still trying to take control of China as that would likely push rearmamment and shows such as this becoming a showcase ?

It would be interesting to see a P-40B Tomahawk in the natural metal and yellow wing USAAC scheme.
