As for German aircraft ? In my scenario there is no war because Hitler is removed from power, however that's my explanation and others might have other idea's. The idea of silver He 100's and early Me 109's appeals though. As an aside I wonder what a reborn Luftwaffe would have looked like without Hitler in power ? Would his democratically elected successors, or indeed a Military Government, have followed the same procurement policies ? Would there have been different favourite companies/designers ?

What about tail markings ?, back to the black & white Cross as per some late WW1 aircraft ?

Mossie

Talking of Russians, does the peace in Western Europe kick off the cold war early?  No WWII as we know it, but Stalin becomes the bogey man, maybe even pushing East as Germany is not the threat it was?  Maybe even a WWII starting in the 50's with East versus West???

Talking of German subjects, Airfix's new Bf110?  Stukas in bright colours would make a nice change, at odds with their ugly looks.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Army of One

If I vaguely remember, there's an old thread on a similar idea.

Here we go, found it:

Speaking of the timeline i assume the Spanish Civil War goes ahead but is less conclusive without German intervention on the side of Franco ?, do the Russians still strike into Finland is Japan still trying to take control of China as that would likely push rearmamment and shows such as this becoming a showcase ?

I am currently doing my research for an article in the Newsletter but basically : The Spanish Civil War goes ahead but without German intervention, just Italian on Franco's side and Russian on the Republican. It gets bogged down into a stalemate of positional warfare. The Russo - Finish War still takes place and the Japanese are still trying to control China.

What I haven't addressed and don't intend doing is what happens in the Pacific. Do the American's threaten Japan with an embargo, do the Japanese launch a pre-emptive strike ?

Basically Europe gradually draws closer when it feels threatened by the growing power of the Soviet Union

The Wooksta!

Is this a mini-theme for Telford?  Got a part built Frog Blenheim (actually one or two) that could add to it. Plus a Sea Hurricane.

Not officially mate, but if a few of us bring models around a similar theme I'm sure Martin won't mind. I'll check with Mike nearer the date so that he can bring his "Hendon 1940" poster
