I had this cheap old Airfix Buffalo, and one or two spare SOC Seamew by Dujin, so I tried out a mix,
and it comes out quite suprisingly natural, doesn't it?

Nice
Looks eminently suitable for an island hopping campaign around, say the Pacific
(Other campaign areas are available) ;D
A couple of 20mm Cannon in the wings should sort out the opposition ;D
One might also like to consider a slightly less conspicuous colour scheme ;)
Unless of course your surname is von Richthofen

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

thanks for your comments!

The Richthofen reference doesn't sound bad  ;) there were other wildly colourful patterns in history, e.g. some british Felixstowe flying boats or american biplanes in 1918.

The float might appear a bit thin indeed, but it is longer than usual w.r.t. Buffalo length, so it should float, at least in whifworld  ;D

Wow, synchronicity.
I was fiddling with a Hasegawa Kawanishi Rex today and thought "what a stubby little plane, like a buffalo.  Wonder what a buffalo boat plane would look like?"

And now I know.  It looks great.

Congratulations! This is the most elegant Buffalo I have ever seen!
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

So I had remainings of a PM Models Spitfire (a very very basic kit ...), the twin-float version of which I used the floats for something else.

I also had yet another Dujin kit of the Seamew, providing for the same beautiful single float as for the Buffallo  shown before and above (and the rest has been used for other projects ...  :icon_ninja:).

So I thought about cleaning up my stash in a creative way, continuing in the red vein as before.

Besides, I stumbled upon this :

and that :

which amply grounded in retrospect what I did :

Eric has 3 colours in (on?) his palette nighthunter.  Red, Yellow and Blue (well OK, and black judging by the prop).
It is part of his aesthetic to paint his builds only in primary colours.
But then he'll be along in a minute to explain far better than I can.

Looks good Eric.  Preferable IMO to the usual twin float Spitfires (i've never liked those solid mounts when put under the wings - to me they look clumsy there).
