How tall is it please?

The model is scale 1:500 - so as the "oriignal" is 60 meters in diameter, the model is 12 cm in size.

Before leaving to my summer vacation next week, here is the last update for a while:

All six decks are done now - a few smaller detail work is still required but I will do that when I put the decks together:

A lot of Tamiya tape is holding everything together now:

All six decks seperated - I only painted those parts that are later visible:

And starting on deck 1 - a bit of putty&sanding is required as this had a lot support structure below it when printing. When putting the decks together, some putty&sanding will also be required to make the gap between the decks invisible:

WHAAAATT? That's TINY!

It's also totally INCREDIBLE!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

My original plan was to make it in 1:1000 - 6 cm. It printed quite good, but the internal walls were so tiny, that I could not remove the support structure without damamging everything. However, I will have to try it on my SLA printer as it can print much finer and does nut need su much support at all.

I just got a ruler out and find myself in complete agreement with that statement

Enjoy your holiday

Thx. During my vacation I will visit - or come nearby - a few spots of some maritime interest, maybe i get some new inspirations there: Bergen (sinking of the CL Königberg), Kirkwall - Scapa Flow (The Kaisers Fleet & the Royal Oak), the Denmark Strait (Bismarck vs Hood) and the resting place of the Titanic. Could be intersting. :)

North Sea cruise ?

Scapa Flo is interesting, if rather bleak. Strangely beautiful though.

If your visit to Orkney is long enough to get to Stromness, the museum there has lots of goodies from the scuttled ships.

Intersting, in the Stormness Museum? We will stop at Kirkwall and have few hours there. Nothing really planned yet, have to see how the busses are going to Stormness. Would be something to do - if the GF says yes.... :)

Sounds good  I've done Southampton to NYC but that was just 5 days across and then flight back.

I guess this was a tour with QE2 or QM2? I know they make a"direct" Atlantic crossing. Our trip will go from Kiel-Bergen-Kirkwall-Reykjavik-Quatatok (sp?)-St. John's-Halifax-Bar Harbour-NYC.
So s light longer way with several stops and 17 days. Plus a few days left in NYC. Where I have to visit the Intrepid to get a few inspirations :)

Ok, this was a bit off-topic now,I will return on-topic when I am back in my workshop :)

Intrepid is a good trip, as long as it's not raining  :-\

Enjoy

Coming back to the Kaulquappe, two cargo containers and crew members are added to deck 1:

Next will be the process of putting all the decks together and filling the gaps between them.
