When I saw a few of the old episodes, I remembered that I have a kit of the Eagle somewhere.

A quite small and simply Imai kit, but better than nothing :)

The kit looks really much "plastic like", but I hope it will be better when painted

Cool. 1/110 scale eh ? Kind of odd but in space terms I guess it would be easy enough to find bits to add to it or dios that could be passed as scale.

This kit is really more a toy. You should add soem wheels to the cargo container, so that you can "play" with it on the floor.
Ok, I did not add the wheels.....
The landing gear is "too short", it would not hit the ground when the wheels are installed, so I guess I have to modify them so that they look more realistic.
But I wanted to have one of those Eagels, and it was cheap .... :) :) :)

Sure, it might come out of the box like a toy, but once she's all done and weathered up or in a dio I bet that will change !

Looks a bit better now, well mainly white as the one in the TV series:

Still have to see how to modify the landing gear to make it look "right".

Yes indeed ! Definatley looking better, a lot more 'scale' looking than 'toy'. Great work !

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

As pure whire is a little bit boring, the Eagle is not "pimed" a little bit

The biggest issue with this kit - it has no real landing gear, but whhels to "play" with it. So right now, I make a new landing gear, using parts of a 1/288 scele An-26

Finally its done, the Eagle has landed.... ahm, the Eagle is completed  ;D

This IMAI model (1:100 scale) was pretty basic and more a toy than a detailed kit. Which I did not know when i got this one on ebay. The cargo container should get 4 wheels so that you could "play" with the build eably. Because of the wheels, the landing gear was too short, not touching the ground at all. Therefore I had to build a new one from scratch, using parts of two An-26 kits.

MY GF had a model kit for me as a Christmas Present. Unusual compared to the stuff I normally build, its a "Metal Earh", laser-cut metal model.
So you have to cut things out, bend them and put them together without glueing anything. So quite different compared to a plastic model, especially to get thinks bend the right way.

If you make an error, there is a god chance that parts will be destroyed, so its a bit tricky.

In the end, the result is not perfect, but I had to learn how to work with this material. There is another kit of this kind waiting (Eagle Moon Lander) which should be more difficult htan this one.

The kit:

The ready build model:

That looks really good! Makes me want to try one.
I've seen quite a few of these around. Their selection keeps getting bigger so they must be selling.

I'd missed the Eagle, really nice job on it, builds up quite nicely.

I do like the Spirit/Opportunity rover.  I was given an R2-D2 kit a little while ago and I agree with your comments, it's a little tricky and my completed kit wasn't perfect but it's quite a nice model when finished.  It's made me want to try some of the Aircraft in Minature Historic Wings kits that are mostly etch, although I've resisted because they are expensive.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I was given the Metal Earth P-51D as a pressie a while ago, and when I took the frets out of the packet I gave a shudder and slid it back in again!  :o

All those tiny tabs and things! Give me styrene and glue any time..........
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

When I saw this kit, I liked it direckty and had to buy it: Apollo 27.

Ok, I have no idea why they have choosen this name as it has nothing to do wit hte "real" Apollo. Anyway, this is the kit to build:

As there are not so many part in it - and they fit easiely together withut glueing them, a little test how thing match together:

No I only have to see if I can build this one in Kerbal Space Program as well.... :)
