After I made the half scale test print, I did a few smaller changes to the 3D model, so i could now start with the "real" prints.

Starting with Deck 1 (hangar, air locks, storage), it took 5 hours to print it. Set my printer to the highest possible detail level which i usually use for miniature printing. Which slows it down quite some.

Out of the printer, removed support:

Started to paint it:

I will add some more details to it as it looks pretty empty. On the top, you can see the first smaller cutout for the landing legs. In the center, there is the central anit-gravitation lift going through the complete ship.

As the inner side of deck 1 is pretty empty, I have enhanced it with several parts of the pare part box. Several warship parts were used there :)

Adding a flying tank "Shift" in there, its clear that the original drawing I used is not really up to scale. It simply does not fit in there.

The one-man fighter (for deck 2) is printed with the rein printer, and it looks ok (for comparison, here is the "big" versin of it http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,43461.0.html )

Talking about scale, for another ongoing project, I had to make a flying tank "Shift" in 1/2000 scale, which is a quarter of the size I used for this model. I was surprised that this one did come out if the printer and still has al the details (a bit hard to see on the photo):

This is coming along nicely.

It's just occurred to me that one could 3d print a 2:1 or 4:1 scale 1 euro coin which one could use to make ones models appear smaller.

Just like Greg Strobez' giant size Tamiya paint pot you mean?  ;D ;)

My engineer can testify that the Euro coin is a real one 1:1 scale. Have to see if he can send some proofs.

Deck 2 (hangar, landing legs, guns) is almost painted completly now. Printing time for it was about 9 hours:

At least two flying tanks will later fit in it:

A test, if deck 1 and 2 fit together:

A few details form the spare part box will now be added before I continue with the next deck.

The landing legs (7 needed) are also done now. Printing time was about 1 hour each.

This morning, deck 3 (engine rooms) came out of the printer after a 14 hour print:

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Did anyone ever tell him anything they didn't think he'd want to hear?

After adding a few more details to deck 2, I tested both parts how they look together. All langing legs are also added for testing;

The outside of the Kaulquappe is not painted yet, still have to dedive which colour to take for it. The outside will only be painted after all decks are put together.

Deck 3 is now in the process of being painted - still wip:

I am currently doing some tests how to print the transparent cupolas at the gun postions. Still a way to go there I fear.

I'm shaking my head in disbelief.  This is brilliant.
