All langing legs are also added for testing;

I would have had no chance of getting them all to touch the ground. Fantastic work

Deck 3 is now completed and added to the other decks for testing.

As this is the engine/machinery deck, the hyperdrive is located in the inner core:

All three decks together, directly form the side:

After 18 hours of printing, deck 4 is printed as well. Here we have the central torus with the engines. in the center of the deck, the command center/bridge is located. surrounded by crew quarters, some airlocks can be found at the outside.
The central monitor in the command center failed printing, so i removed it and have to replace it.
Some initial rough painting added, stil lsome work required here.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Still working on deck 4, its a bit tricky to paint. If I will ever make another model like this I know what I will make different.

A quick put-together of the parts. The backward part of deck 4 will not be painted because this will later be invisible.

The torrus with all its engine nozzles:

Deck 5 has been printed in 14 hours. Sadly some parts broke when I removed the helper structures, so I have to fix this first before painting it. On this deck we have guns, the observatory, crew cabins and the fire control center in the middle.

Now there is only deck 6 to print.

Watching all this 3d printed stuff go together is like watching the future, I swear once those things become cheaper, they'll be everywhere.
I've never heard much of Perry Rhodan, but I see the name come up now and again through my immersion in Sci-Fi. The ship design is giving me a real 1960's Lost In Space vibe, and especially the colours. Tickling the nostalgia part of my brain that used to watch it on Channel 4 when I was a little hoss.
Amidst the blue skies, a link from past to future. The sheltering wings of the protector...

I guess Perry Rhodan is not so much known outside Germany (altough its running in other countires like Japan, the Netherlands or France for many years now). Here we have one new novel every week since 1961, number 3000 was recently reached. And yes, there was a quite bad Italian-made movie in the late 1960s /early 1970s.... better not to talk about it :)

This spaceship here is indeed a 1960s design, the original drawing was made in 1965. As it was in b&w, the colors are just the choice I made.

Steel Penguin

the novels were around in the UK in the 80s, as my secondary school had some, I didn't realise they were that numerous or that the series was still running till a casual remark somewhere sent me to wiki  :o  im glad I didn't end up hooked on them, my "completeness / packrat" drive would have filled anywhere I lived and bankrupted me
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

Didn't know that they were relased in the UK as well. Afaik, the US edition had the first 150 editions. And the problem isn to the price - its 2,10€ right now - but more the space to store them. There are a lot of boxes in my cellar with all 3000+ copies in them.... :)

Still working on deck 5, painting it. In the meantime I also printed deck 6 - took 9 hours. This is the last deck, it mainly holds the big Pole-Gun (not made so far).

In deck 4, I now added the main monitor - a bit tricky to see behind the anti-gravitation-lift:

And finally, in my test-teck, I tried if I can add some crew to it - its a bit too big, but it works somehow.

Deck 6 is almost done now, some smaller details from the spare part box must be added:

All 6 decks together - after the parts are finally assembled, some putty & sanding will be required on the outer hull.

In the Perry Rhodan forum, someone came up with the idea to add foldable wings to the Shifts. I could have that this idea myself as I am currently building an aircraft carrier as well. So I tried this for one of them. By doing so, I will be able to store them better in deck 2.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

It scares me to think how small some of these bits and bobs are
