Those figures are just what it needed to give that sense of scale

Yes, but they are too big. The model is scale 1:500, the figures are 1:350. But I could not find anything better so far.

Deck 4 - with the cental torus has been added, while a few crew memebers are put into the macheine deck 3

It just needs some paint now.

In the meantime, I printed the complete ship with the SLA printer - half of the scale of the "big" one. Had a few issues with the resin which can be seen in the upper left part. But this one is too small to be painted. Its just 6cm / 2.4inch in diameter.

Well, I wanted to see, how small I can go with it. So I printed another one with the SLA printer, this time 3cm diameter. Printing time a bit over 3 hours.

In the meantime, I am working on the "big" one, chooseing a colour for the engine torrus:

I got a Euro coin out of the "foreign currency" drawer just to remind myself how big/small it is. Remarkable

Deck 5 has now been added, and the putty & sanding game started:

Inside, a few crew memebers are in the control room and nearby (the large soom does not make it look nicer...)

The complete inside so far:

Preparing the windows in Deck 3. Transparent printed parts are not clear as expected:

As I like minatures, I wanted to see how small I can go. Last week, i had a 3cm model, this time i tried 2cm and 1cm. The 2cm one is completly fine, all decks printed well, even the lift entries are visible. The 1cm one is too small, here, some of the walls were too thin to print. Anyway, I am really surprised, how small you can go with it.

Still working on the outer hull, but every of those space ships in the Perry Rhodan universe has its main big gun at its north pole. So I needed one as well:

The big gun has been "pimped" now:

And sll gegments are put together, some final putty&sanding is required before i can fix all the little paint bugs in it.

Now that all parts are put together, some first tests for the pole dome are made

I will have have to print this one with transparent filament.

Now started to add all gun kupolas and windows. Printed with "transparent" filament, which of coruse is not cristal clear but somehow transparent.
